Kaede Weave Chain Maille - Virtual Workshop

Students who enroll in this live, virtual workshop will learn two uncommon and beautiful chain maille techniques through the construction of two chain – Forars Kaede and Hawkskaede, a Forars Kaede variant.  Students will be responsible for ordering their own links, therefore they are free to choose the metal they want to work in (titanium, sterling silver, or anodized aluminum) and can also decide the length of chain they wish to make (bracelet or necklace). The instructor will demo in titanium. A detailed supply list for jump ring quantities will be sent to each student upon enrollment.

It is assumed that all students who enroll are proficient weavers, know the difference between Through-the-Eye and Around-the-Eye connections, understand gauge, inner/outer diameter, aspect ratio, and know Half Persian 3-in-1 weave.

This course will consist of two sessions. There will be a no-class day between each session.

Class will be held live via Zoom during the designated time frame. A link to the Zoom room will be sent via email.

Each session will be recorded and you will receive a password protected link to the recordings that expire after 30 days.
