Part gathering, part knowledge exchange, part creative spark—join us on Friday, June 12 from 1–7 p.m. (EST) for a special Boston edition of the Alchemist's Picnic, a one-of-a-kind afternoon and evening dedicated to connection, curiosity, and the shared language of making.

Conceived by metalsmith and community-builder Wayne Werner, the Alchemist's Picnic grew from a simple idea: bring makers together in an open, generous space to share processes, trade ideas, and build relationships across disciplines. What began as an informal exchange has evolved into a vibrant annual tradition—equal parts picnic, symposium, and creative think tank.

This year’s event at Metalwerx invites you to spend the day immersed in making and conversation. Expect a unforgettable mix of live demonstrations, select tool and materials vendors, and roundtable discussions designed to spark new ideas and deepen your practice. A highlight of the day will be our meet, greet, and critique session with invited panelists—an opportunity to share your work, ask questions, and engage in thoughtful dialogue with peers and professionals alike.

Whether you come to learn a new technique, discover new tools, or simply reconnect with the community, The Alchemist's Picnic offers space for both structured learning and spontaneous exchange.

Can’t join us in person? This year’s event will be offered as a hybrid experience, with demos and the panel discussion broadcast live via Zoom for remote attendees!
