Studiomates

Metalwerx is home to 29 full- and part-time Studiomates, who are an integral part of our community. These impassioned resident artists include professional and part-time metalsmiths, jewelers, and dedicated students. Each member has their own workspace in a separate wing of the building. It’s a warm space with informal critiques, expert advice and shared experience.

Studiomate Membership includes access to shared soldering and polishing areas, lapidary equipment, specialty metalworking tools including a pulse arc welder, kiln, rolling mill, anvil, forming tools, WiFi, use of our library, and much more. Studiomates also have the opportunity to assist with onsite workshops and are invited to participate in Waltham Open Studios as well as Metalwerx's other events.

Full Time Membership

• 11 Dedicated workspaces that include a jewelers bench, chair, storage space, electrical access.
• 24-hour access

Part-time Membership

• 3 workspaces rented by the day, with a jewelers bench, chair, light, flex-shaft, storage shelf, and electrical access. 
• Each of 18 participants enjoys access on a specific weekday (Monday - Saturday) from 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
