Intermediate and Intuitive Engraving
This one-day engraving intensive will guide students through personalizing the practical and conceptual sides of engraving.
The beginning of the day will focus on practicing traditional, ornamental cuts to build a library of lines through hand-push engraving. Flare, lightning, plunge and some classic border cuts are just some of the building blocks that will be covered.
After gaining a sufficient understanding of these skills, students will take these conventional motifs and generate individualized and intuitive marks to find ways of making ornate decorative engraving their own.
This course is ideal for students who have a basic understanding of engraving, have taken an introductory course and are ready for the next steps, or are simply looking to fall back in love with the art of engraving.
