Rings 360º: Stone Setting Intensive
This workshop explores ring design, fabrication, stone setting, and assembly techniques centered around the concept of the ring.
The aesthetic value of jewelry comes not from the size of the stone or the worth of the metal, but from the artist’s imagination and execution. Throughout the course, you will design and create rings that reflect personal meaning, expression, and adornment. You will also have dedicated time to develop and refine your stone-setting skills.
A variety of techniques will be covered, including tube setting, flush setting, prong setting, and bezel setting for faceted stones. Each method will be demonstrated, followed by guided hands-on practice to build confidence and precision.
In addition, we will explore how to make a few simple tools to support your stone-setting process.
While this workshop is designed for those with basic metalsmithing experience—such as soldering and fabrication—beginners with a willingness to learn are warmly encouraged to join.
PLEASE READ THE MATERIALS & TOOLS TAB CAREFULLY TO BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT TO BRING.
