ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Metalwerx is a nonprofit school and community studio located in Waltham, MA, and is committed to promoting the art of jewelry and metals through exceptional classes, workshops, studio space, programming and events for personal and professional development.
POSITION SUMMARY
Metalwerx is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Program Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our educational programming. This onsite, part-time position plays a key role in bringing our classes and workshops to life—from initial instructor coordination through final program execution.
Working closely with the Education Director, the Program Coordinator will assist with a wide range of administrative and logistical tasks that support our dynamic schedule of in-person and virtual offerings.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with instructors to gather course descriptions, materials lists, images, and scheduling details
- Build and update class listings on the Metalwerx website (including formatting and proofreading content)
- Edit and prepare images for web and promotional use
- Coordinate travel and lodging for visiting instructors
- Prepare and issue instructor contracts and related documentation
- Support general program logistics and communication across departments
- Assist with maintaining organized and up-to-date program records
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with a partially remote team
- Friendly, collaborative, and service-oriented disposition
- Proficiency with basic digital tools (word processing, spreadsheets, web platforms)
- Willingness to work some weekends and evenings
- Experience providing admin support for programs, events, or performances for public audiences.
- Experience with customer service, student services, or other client support
- Proficiency with email, Zoom, and other digital communication tools
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
PREFERRED
- Familiarity with metalsmithing, jewelry techniques, and related terminology
- Experience with content management systems and/or basic image editing
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a part-time onsite position at Metalwerx Studio in Waltham, MA working 25 hours per week.
