OVERVIEW
Metalwerx is currently accepting applications for our Office Assistant Internship. This is a paid seasonal position, where the prospective candidate will provide critical customer service and administrative support as it relates to our education offerings.
Responsibilities include:
- Customer Service & Office Administration
- Greet onsite visitors, instructors, and guests, providing customer service as needed
- Manage phone and email inquiries, referring inquiries to Experience Manager, Education Director and Studio Manager, as needed.
- Ensure office supplies and kitchen supplies are stocked. Order office and kitchen supplies and manage recurring orders.
- Manage incoming mail. Scan any bills and invoices and provide them to the Accountant
- Perform opening and closing tasks
- Provide support for classes and Metalwerx special events
- Monitor open studio time
- Perform assigned duties, as needed
- Program Support
- Assist the Education Director and Experience Manager with all aspects of course administration, including course listings, participant inquiries, registration, waitlists, enrollment tracking, notifications, rosters, instructor contracts, and purchase orders.
- Process refund requests, send out invoices, and communicate with students regarding payment related issues
- Process scholarship applications
- Prepare pre-class materials for onsite instructors
- Support marketing efforts by creating social media assets and other marketing tasks as needed
- Virtual Teaching Assistant duties, as needed
- Other administrative tasks, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Friendly and professional demeanor with staff and students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks amid a busy office environment
- Detail oriented and reliable with consistent follow-through
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Zoom, Vimeo
- Experience with an arts education organization preferred
- Background in metal arts and/or jewelry making preferred
STRUCTURE & COMPENSATION
This position has been envisioned to be around 20-30 hours a week for around four months (approximately May through August). The exact schedule and hours are flexible and will largely be determined by the chosen candidate. Compensation includes:
- $18/hour
- One free Metalwerx class the following semester
- Potential opportunity to use studio space or a bench, as the schedule allows.
