Beyond the Basics: Jewelry Photography, Editing, and Retouching

This intermediate workshop is designed for jewelers who want to move beyond the basics and create more polished, professional images of their work. Students will learn how to make stronger original captures through refined lighting, tethered shooting, camera position, and image planning. We will focus on professional editing in Lightroom and Photoshop, including cleanup, tonal refinement, and combining multiple captures with different lighting to create a final polished image suitable for jury submissions, websites, portfolios, and marketing. Between sessions, students will photograph their own jewelry as homework using the techniques covered in class. The second session will be structures as a Q&A for students to get help from Scott and Donna after they have photographed their own jewelry in the intervening week.
