Our innovative school and community studio provides jewelry making instruction on topics ranging from introductory classes to professional level courses, in a well-equipped, supportive, and enthusiastic environment.
Classes and workshops run year-round, with offerings online and in-person tailored to every skill level and interest. Our studio has an ever growing collection of top-notch tools and equipment to support learning a broad array of metalsmithing techniques.
We are fortunate to work with a strong core of local, talented jewelers who keep our curriculum fresh and inspiring. We also seek out visiting artist-instructors who excel in a specialized jewelry or metalworking technique. Sudents hail from all 50 states and across the globe to study with our world-class faculty.
Onsite Courses
Weekly classes provide students with the fundamental skills needed to enter and explore the broad field of jewelry making and metalworking. Get hands-on guidance and access to top-notch tools in our fully equipped classroom. Classes run seasonally
Workshops are geared to both professionals and beginners, and run one to three days, most weekends. Learn hands-on and in-person with acclaimed artist-educators excelling in specialized techniques.
Metalwerx brings internationally renowned instructors from across the country teach three to five-day intensive workshops in our special 'Summer with the Masters’ program that runs from June through August.
Virtual Courses
Metalwerx launched Virtual Courses in 2020 and is committed to continuing this program. Instruction is live and interactive, from the comfort of your home! Zoom Classes offer a supportive community for students and makers of all experience levels to learn together and from each other.
Virtual courses come in a broad array of types and durations, with particular focus placed on techniques best suited for a home studio environment.
General information on basic tools recommended for working in a home studio. Student participation during or in-between class sessions is strongly encouraged but not required - observers are welcome.
